Steve's Marathon Challenge

Steve’s Marathon Challenge

Steve Swindon, Chief Executive at Basemap has decided to run 8 marathons to raise money for Shooting Star Chase, a children’s hospice charity. Most people would think running one marathon was more than enough, however Steve has already completed 3 marathons and will be completing one each weekend in April totalling 210 miles!! He has been training hard for the past few months, running evenings and weekends in preparation for his epic challenge!

The Charity

Shooting Star Chase

Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count. It costs £10 million a year just to maintain Shooting Start Chase’s current level of care, 90% of which comes from donations.

Words cannot describe how difficult it must be watching a child cope with a life limiting condition.  Steve chose Shooting Star Chase as they provide amazing support for families that are going through this every day.
