Background

Established in 2000, Basemap is a specialist provider of digital mapping, travel time analysis and public transport data solutions.  In 2013 Basemap launched TRACC, the leading travel time analysis solution.  TRACC was created to help our clients to produce accurate, public transport and road based travel time analysis, quickly and easily, so that they can make informed business decisions.  Since the launch of TRACC Basemap have launched two web products DataCutter and Highways Analyst, allowing users to visualise congestion information and purchase premium data from Basemap and its partners.  Basemap also provides training and consultancy as well as a broad range of national datasets from Ordnance Survey and other leading data providers.

Basemap is looking to hire a Product Specialist to work with the Sales and Product Management teams to expand the post-sales support capability for the Basemap product suite.

Location: The Surrey Technology Centre, Guildford

Reports to: Product Manager

Job summary

To assist the Product Manager in delivering training courses for TRACC and supporting the Basemap products suites users pre and post implementation.  Key job tasks are to:

  • Design and deliver training courses for TRACC both remotely and face to face
  • Provide support for the product suite for users who contact Basemap via the support email address or through the forum
  • Draft functional specifications for new TRACC features and work with the technical team to implement these features
  • Document and execute regression and user acceptance tests for existing and new TRACC features
  • Create and maintain help files for Basemap products
  • Provide product demonstrations to prospective clients

Role Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

 The candidate will have:

  • a 2.1 or above in a relevant degree such as Business/IT with Geography or GIS
  • a high level of competency in the use of Office applications
  • experience of using mapping applications (GIS) such as those from Mapinfo/ESRI
  • a clean driving licence
