Highways Analyst Product Tip – Saving Custom Boundaries
Ever wondered how you save a Custom Boundary into Highways Analyst to use in the wizard?
The tools in Highways Analyst allow you to use the Trafficmaster speeds without having to get bogged down in the vast dataset. Creating a custom boundary allows you to visualise the speeds on a particular set of roads or geographical boundary quickly and easily; focusing analysis and improving efficiency.
The trick is to go to the ‘Settings’ under your account:
Then select the ‘Custom Boundaries’ tab in the settings box.
Here you have a choice to and upload your shapefile of the custom boundary you would like to save. This must be a compressed zip file.
Upload a CSV file containing a list of OSGB link IDs. Highways Analyst will create a custom boundary of the links listed, and any links that fall in a 5 meter buffer. The CSV file must have 1 column of data listing the OSGB link IDs (Please Note: Please make sure your list has a column heading as Highways Analyst will disregard the first row of data)
Give your boundary a Name, and click ‘Create’ Your boundary will save and then can be selected to use in the wizard.
