To facilitate fast easy display of place names at a range of scales, the gazetteer of places is classified into six types; capitals, big cities, major towns, top towns, mid towns, small places and villages.
Key polygons of interest are provided; including some shops, airports, golf courses, industrial areas, cemeteries, universities, and sports grounds. Population counts are attached to many place names, elevation contours and some building outline are also included.
