Basemap can provide support for client projects that require some form of journey time analysis for all modes of private and public transport.  Some examples of projects include:

  • Analysing the existing transport network and analysis of new or closed services
  • Transport accessibility analysis
  • Identification of optimum locations for new offices or relocation of office

Origin /destination matricies

Routing algorithms are used to provide origin and destination matricies of travel time and distance which clients are then able to use in their own GIS or transport planning software.  Car, cycle and walking matricies can be provided based upon detailed digital road networks and recorded speed data.  For public transport analysis, accurate data can be provided including all components of a journey such as walking using a road network, waiting and in-vehicle times.

Transport accessibility / travel time isochrones

Utilising the Accession software and other GIS tools, Basemap can provide origin/destination travel time isochrones (contours) for clients.  The output can either be in the form of images file for use in presentations or the polygon files for use in client GIS.
