Accessibility to GP Surgery’s in Brighton

Work was undertaken to show travel time to GP surgeries in Brighton and Hove. The specification asked that bus, rail and coach services were used between a time period of 10am and 4pm to show journey times to a GP surgery. The client wanted a high resolution PDF showing contoured travel times and that the map could be displayed publically if required; in addition reports were generated using population data to provide percentages of accessibility for 5 minute intervals. These results showed that 99% of Brighton and Hove’s population could access a local GP surgery within 30 minutes.

Relocation of Staff

A client was looking to evaluate the impact of travel times by re-locating staff from one premises to another. All the client had was a list of employee post codes and the two office locations. Basemap used Ordnance Survey Code Point data to plot these locations in Accession quickly to provide a start and end point for the calculation. The client specified which transport modes they wanted included and what the limitations of these are. The results were shown on a detailed high resolution contour map and Basemap provided a report showing each individuals journey time.

Drive time to a Hospital in London

To demonstrate how data collated by TomTom could be used in Accession, a test was carried out using historic TomTom speed data to hospitals in London. Multiple studies were carried out to test the validity of the data and the results were presented as a user-friendly high resolution PDF showing the car journey time to each hospital.
